Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28, 1967. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts who reside in Atlanta. Early on, her father was interested in theatre. He was a part of at the Emory University campus in 1952 and also in a variety of productions that were staged around Atlanta. He joined the military in 1953. During his time stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, was cast in a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the Air force. In 1955, the couple married and, in 1956, their child Eric Anthony was born. Walter attended Tulane University at New Orleans In 1957, the city of Louisiana where they had separated from the Air Force of the United States. In 1960, the family relocated to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working with Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1964 Walter along with Betty Lou began production on a local Saturday morning children's television show known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by on their own. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou founded The Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted 6 years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa, was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
